A visit to Trevor Rogers' garden at Hartforth

The address is Comfort Lane Cottage, Hartforth, Richmond.

To get there travel east along the A66 until you have passed the junction for Ravensworth. Take the next turning right sign-posted to Hartforth and Richmond and then the next right again. Trevor’s house is on the right, but parking is on the left before you get to the houses.

A tour with Reg Metcalfe to "his" gardens.
We are going to visit two of the gardens cared for by Reg Metcalfe:
 
Grimes Hill Lodge, Middleton
 
Meet here at 2 pm. Grimes Hill Lodge is on the A683 at Middleton between
Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale. It is the first house beyond the Swan public
house, which is on the right hand side of the road (travelling from the
Sedbergh direction).  There is parking at the house ­ enter by the first
gate.

Elm Lodge, Ravenstonedale
 
Elm Lodge is opposite the school in Ravenstonedale.  Turn off the Sedbergh
road at the Fat Lamb.  Proceed to the centre of Ravenstonedale and turn left
past the Black Swan.  Elm Lodge is a couple of hundred yards - park in the
parking area by the school. Tea and biscuits will be available at the Black
Swan after our visit.

5th August

Meet here at 2 pm.

 

Take the Waitby road from Kirkby Stephen Grammar School.
Keep to the right as you enter Waitby ­ Waitby Longbarn is on the right near the centre of the hamlet. 

Park in the farmyard just beyond the house.

Gail Bars, Waitby ­ Felicity Arrowsmith
Retrace your steps back towards Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, over the railway bridges ­ Gail Bars is on the right and will be marked with balloons.  Park in field.

Olive Mount, Rowgate, Kirkby Stephen ­ Donald and June Walker
Park in Rowgate and neighbouring streets.
 
Manor Cottage, 52 High Street, Kirkby Stephen ­ Jenny McWilliam
Park in High Street. Refreshments will be provided.
 
Car Sharing
It makes sense to share cars wherever possible.  If you want to share and
cannot find a member to share with (or you have lost your membership list)
